Nairobi, Nov 19 – A light aircraft belonging to the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) crashed at Magadi on Thursday killing the pilot, the service said.

The plane, an AutoGyro model MTO Sport, was on a routine training flight when it came down at 7.38 a.m. at Orly Airstrip in Magadi, Kajiado County. The aircraft was used for park patrols.

Investigations are under way to determine the cause of the accident, KWS said in a press release.

The Service sent its condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased pilot.
