Nairobi, July 23 – Unknown people have started fires at three locations in the Tsavo conservation area, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) reported on Thursday.
The first one was ignited in the Taita ranches adjacent to Tsavo East National Park and was put out before it could spread into the park, KWS said in a press release on Thursday. It was not immediately clear who started the fires.
Efforts are underway to extinguish the second fire in the southern part of Tsavo West National Park, according to a KWS statement.
The third fire was raging in Kikunduku part of Chyulu National Park at 7.30 pm on July 22 and is also being fought by KWS teams.
